Drug Uses

Purim tablets are useful when the following symptoms are displayed: acute and chronic dermatitis; hyperpigmentation in chronic dermatitis; cutaneous manifestations in worm infestations; acne vulgaris and rosacea associated with acneiform postulation.

How Taken

1 or 2 tablets twice per day, preferably with meals.

Drug Class and Mechanism

The various constituents of Purim have antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, hepatic stimulant, wound healing and anti-allergic properties. Purim's hepatic stimulant property helps in the improvement of liver functions, and removal of toxic metabolic products in various systemic and skin infections. Hence, Purim acts as a detoxifier. Purim's anthelmintic and laxative actions are useful in the management of cutaneous manifestations of worm infestations. Thus, Purim's constituents produce a synergistic effect.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of this medicine and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Store at the room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children.

No absolute contraindications. Consult your healthcare professional if pregnant or nursing.

Possible Side Effects

Purim is not known to have any side effects if taken as per the prescribed dosage.

Considering the various distinguishing attributes of Purim in respect of its efficacy and tolerability, the drug would be a valuable addition to the therapeutic armamentarium in the treatment of dermatitis due to different skin diseases. There were no adverse effects seen in any of the patients.
